Why Not? | Rare Beauties

La belleza es muy relativa y la moda es contradictoria. Hoy en día, que ya está todo visto, las firmas buscan impactar y ofrecer algo distinto, y no solo con sus diseños, si no también con aquellos que los visten. Es ahí cuando surgen nuevas formas de belleza que se alejan de los cánones que este mundo suele imponer. De algunas de estas personas ya te he hablado en este blog, como es el caso de Winnie Harlow (AQUÍ). De otros estoy seguro que no será la última...



Winnie Harlow  @winnieharlow
· Su nombre auténtico es Chantelle Brown-Young
· Nació en Canadá hace 20 años y se le diagnosticó vitíligo cuando tenía 4 añitos
· Sufrió bullying en la escuela debido a las manchas de su piel
· Se dio a conocer gracias al programa America's Next Top Model que presenta Tyra Banks
· Es imagen de firmas como Diesel y Desigual
· También ha sido fotografiada por Nick Knight, ha aparecido en el videoclip de Eminem y Sia Guts Over Fear 
· Un rasgo muy distintivo de sus manchas es que las de la cara son simétricas

· Abandonó el instituto con 17 años y a los 18 sorprendió a todos alistándose en la Marina estadounidense
· Perdió una pierna en la guerra de Afganistán en el 2009 debido a una bomba que casi le quita la vida

· Es africana, y además de ser modelo, también es abogada
· Su infancia no fue nada fácil. En África, aquellos que sufren albinismo, se les considera hijos del demonio. Además debido a la falta de recursos, son muy propensos a sufrir cáncer de piel debido a la exposición continua al sol. Es curioso, ya que África es uno de los continentes con mayor población albina
· Muchos albinos son sacrificados en África, ya que creen que sus huesos y órganos tienen propiedades curativas
· Su imagen tan delicada ha triunfado tanto en pasarelas como en revistas
· Usa tanto su faceta de modelo como de abogada para reivindicar su condición y denunciar las barbaridades que ocurren en su país
· Es imagen de la campaña Vichy Capital Soleil

· Modelo internacional de tallas grandes
· Fue descubierta en un centro comercial de su ciudad natal, Nebraska, en el año 2000, cuando tenía 12 años
· Es más conocida por ser imagen de la firma de lencería Lane Bryant
· Ha aparecido en diversas campañas de Levi's
· Ha aparecido en otras revistas como ElleVogueHarper's Bazaar, Glamour Latina
· Primera modelo de tallas grandes en aparecer en la revista Sports Illustrated 
· Ha diseñado su propia línea de lencería para Addition Elle, una casa de ropa canadiense de tallas grandes
· A través de Instagram, ha promovido la campaña #ImNoAngel




Moffy
· Es la abreviatura de Myfanwy
· Es británica. Su peculiaridad: es bizca
· Intentaron ficharla en un festival cuando tenía 14 años, pero se negó porque se consideraba demasiado joven
· La revista The Pop, que la clasifica de ''estrella'', la fotografió por primera vez y fue imagen de portada
· Seis meses más tarde, uno de los blogs de moda de referencia, Fashion Copiuos, escrito por John Haro, publicaba nuevas fotos de Moffy
· Fue fichada por la agencia de modelos Storm, la misma que en su momento fichó a Kate Moss por primera vez
· Decidió no operarse. Además, no lo considera una enfermedad, ya que como ella dice ''solo tiene un ojo divertido''
